Main Objectives: Cooperation with research institutions and think-tanks has two main objectives. The first is to strengthen developing countries’ research through graduate training and PhD programmes and to ensure that developing countries have access to knowledge and methods that can be applied to diagnose and treat disease,or inspect food or assess air quality in large cities, for example. The second objective it to create new knowledge that can be applied in development assistance, for example new knowledge about climate change, sustainable energy, the use of mobile phones in terms of mothers’ health, or value chains in the private sector.

Countries: Denmark has diplomatic missions in 13 African countries: Benin, BF, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Uganda. Also partnerships with Sudan and Somalia. Specific programmes with Tanzania and Ghana.

Main Objectives: The Ministry’s prime mission, in both of these areas, is to buttress France’s competitiveness in the international arena and assert its traditional role as a development partner to the South. The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs intends to conduct a university cooperation policy focused on providing education and training to the top-level students of foreign countries (in our country or outside France) and the internationalisation of education and training for French students.This action is organised along 3 strategic avenues: Training for top young students in France and abroad; The construction of scientific networks and partnerships; A focus on the problems specific to the South, against the background of sustainable development issues.
